Fox/Woodland Themed Baby Shower

With many of us still in college, it became hard to do a lot of planning for a baby shower. As a matter of fact, I purchased most of the items two days before the shower! Yikes...

Because the shower was also after a church service, we had two - three hours to quickly decorate and set up. It needed to be minimal but a bit of thoughtful decorations throughout.

I first started with a woodland themed backdrop that was purchased locally from Facebook Marketplace. I love to include a bookshelf of some sort and ask people to include a book rather than a card. As gifts get open, the books go on the shelf, with a few decorative ones to start with. The bookshelf was also a Facebook Marketplace score that will first be used for cloth diapers and then books as baby grows.

Because of the backdrop, I chose to purchase this downloadable invite off of Etsy.
(Some of the wording has been scratched off for privacy).
I love to get a Walgreens 5 x 7 floating frame of the invite for a sweet keepsake in baby's room.
The theme compliments the fox nursery.

I really went simple with this design but it was still sweet.
The tablecloth was actually kraft paper rolls purchased at Dollar Tree. Each roll did a 6 ft table. It worked great to give a wood look.
The big log pieces and small log piece (holding the fox) were actually part of the recipients wedding decor that was reused. The fox and raccoon were supposed to go in cupcakes, but I quickly decided to stick in the holders instead.

I purchased the pinecones from Walmart, that can be hung on a Christmas tree soon.
The red was cut up fabric to add color to the plain brown colors.
I wanted to get small pine branches, but again, time made this simple and clean.

Red napkins were rolled with black utensils and tied with a twine string.
The bucket was also from the wedding and burlap was placed around the bucket.
It's always great to reuse what you have on hand.

The gift table also had kraft paper along the tables.
It was draped with a little stuff foxed banner that the recipient had for the nursery.

While I skimped on the decorations, the mom to be aunt made incredible efforts on the yummy food.
Most everything was made to be dairy free because of a milk allergy from the big brother.

Meatballs, polish sausage with pineapples, apple pieces,
a chip salsa were some of the main features.

Lots of vegetables as a side dish was an excellent addition.

Grapes and specially made cookies for the big brother were also thoughtfully chosen.
The brown kraft paper came in handy for the food table also.

Woodland themed brown and white to offset the color, served on wood slats was a great touch in keeping with the theme.

The cups were also placed in a galvanized bucket with burlap around it, along with another wood slat underneath the bucket for a small touch within the drink station.

While the woodland theme was nothing over the top,
it shows what can be created in a pinch.
She had a great time, had great guest, great presents and great food. . .
And is now more prepared to welcome a little one soon.
